Bob42jh : Films About Ghosts Compilation

Bob42jh and The Find Magazine – Films About Ghosts
Last Christmas Bob42jh and The Find Magazine teamed up to release a free compilation. After finally getting the chance to give this compilation the attention it deserves, I was instantly blown away by these thirteen tracks. Bob42jh has a keen ear for finding lesser-heard talent and bringing it to the masses, as proven in his years as a prolific YouTube uploader of underground hip hop — and we can safely say, yet again in this compilation.
Like the well-chosen cover art, Films About Ghosts will take you above the clouds with its uplifting instrumental tracks. Unless you’ve followed Bob42jh for a long enough time, you may not have heard of most of these producers.. but that is in no way indicative of the quality of these thirteen tracks.
A few that had me pressing repeat are Evan Awake’s “Folklore,” a beat from the German producer that samples pop/folk rock from Keren O and the Kids and blends it into a unique, acoustic beat. Paul Dateh’s original track “Darkest Point” which we recently featured is another favorite of mine, in which Dateh lays down mellow chords, carefully chopped vocal samples, and even adds his trademark violin into the mix.
The closing track on the album is a previously unreleased track from Emancipator, “Miles Above”; an acoustic, soft spoken ballad with Emancipator’s signature atmosphere carved into it. These are just a few personal favorites, grab the album for free to find your own.
Some may knock instrumental hip hop for it’s lack of vocals or lyrics, but I believe this album proves how powerful instrumental hip hop can be.
