Avens : Surrounding Reality
Let me introduce to you a young beatmaker who deserves to be on your radar — Avens. Hailing from Cracow, Poland, Avens has recently released his debut album, “Surrounding Reality” on the Japanese label IntroDucing! productions.
The first thing I have to say about this album is that it’s incredibly refreshing. A distinct mood and atmosphere is kept throughout these seventeen tracks, but it’s always kept interesting — thanks to the choice of instruments and their constant variety from track to track.
There are a few tracks that specifically stand out to me, one of them being the title track which features Jas Mace of The 49ers. His pensive flow combined with Avens’ classy instrumental result in a smooth, seamless track that showcases the best from both artists. Another track that especially caught my attention is the fifth track, Tone of Mind, which features guest production from Bahr. The vibe in Tone of Mind is amazing, and that vibe is definitely representative of the overall feel and atmosphere in this LP.
It’s hard to believe that this is Avens’ debut album. The beats are exceptionally well crafted and have the power to take you somewhere far beyond your headphones. Any fan of jazzy-tinged hip hop will be right at home with “Surrounding Reality”. At only twenty years old, there’s a very bright future ahead for this young Polish producer.
You can listen to a few of my favorite tracks above, but be sure to grab a copy for yourself to find your favorites. You can get “Surrounding Reality” off of Avens’ bandcamp page. Also be sure to connect with his Facebook page to stay in touch with his latest music.
