3. Flying Lotus – MmmHmm ft. Thundercat
The video starts next to the stars, colorfully transitioning to a scene with tons of swirling, snow capped miniature mountains. A royally dressed woman slowly reveals her body made of marijuana, and a psychedelic Indian plays the electric guitar in space. Combine all that with Flying Lotus’ easy going and laid back synths; you won’t need to be on anything for this video to take you somewhere else.

2. Slugabed – Moonbeam Rider
While it’s also set in space like FlyLo’s MmmHmm video, Slugabed’s “Moonbeam Rider” takes a bit of a different approach. Itseems normal at the start — well, as normal as a string of swirling polygons that detach from each other can be. But after the beat kicks in, it’s a different story. In coordination with the heavy, rising synths, the video continually glitches from its focal points, turning everything you thought you identified into a constant, unpredictable illusion.

1. Blockhead – The Music Scene
Directed by Anthony Schepperd, the video for Blockhead’s “The Music Scene” is a trip in itself. A dreamy, hypnotizing guitar riff is played while the colorful bodies of running animals stretch into long spaghetti strands that explode and reunite to the thumping beat. The ground twirls into a beautiful, quick vortex of bright colors and animals. That’s just a few examples of what you’ll find in this video — I’m feeling lightheaded just typing this.
